Franklin Roos (say Roes, sharp s, no final e) studied physics at Leiden University and was a qualified teacher of mathematics and physics at the Nienoordcollege in Leek. He is now retired. Curriculum vitae (Dutch).
This site has pieces on physics, mathematics, philosophy, astronomy, chemistry and the earth — plus two books. Some physics concepts (thermo, quadril, photonmetry, the oreon hypothesis) have since 2012 been neither accepted nor rejected. The author himself puts it this way: do not use them in your education.

Two books

De vlo botst op de voetbal (The flea hits the football) — on the edge of science fiction and science, 280 pages, hardcover. Among other things it works out the oreon hypothesis: atomic nuclei not as protons and neutrons, but as billions of oreons. Table of contents (Dutch). € 33.00 via Pumbo.
Physics
Roos looks for descriptions that are as classical and as economical as possible. Competing theories need not rule each other out; Occam’s razor may prune later. The Dutch essay Is classical physics making a return? sets Newton and Maxwell beside quantum physics and relativity, and beside Bohm, Giese and his own oreon hypothesis.
- Oreon hypothesis — nuclei made of electrically negative, neutral and positive oreons.
- Photonmetry — photometry without candela, lumen and lux; watt and W/m² should suffice, the candela is superfluous.
- Tetrologic — four base dimensions (length, time, mass, current) plus a unit dimension; mole, temperature and luminous intensity would be derived.
- Ohm’s law, Ohm, Volta, Ampère, Watt, unification of forces, volume and space.
- Film: superfluid ‘helium’ (about 15 minutes) and the piece liquid ‘helium’ is no helium.

Mathematics

Philosophy
What is truth? starts with four people around a cup: they all speak the truth, they all see something different. Absolute truth does not exist; so be careful with the word liar. Elsewhere: miracles, proof, free will, chance, nothing.

Astronomy
From here the sun and the moon look, by chance, the same size — half a degree of arc. That is why both total and annular solar eclipses exist. Nature cannot make an annular lunar eclipse; with a coin in front of your eye you can. See Chance or sureness during an eclipse? and solution of an eclipse.

What we can infer under our feet: seismics, layers, the interior. The subject menu is short; the piece itself is not.

Science in general
The Dutch page Wetenschap algemeen keeps the method small: choose, observe, arrange, hypothesize, test. Working together helps against errors of thought, but can end in a quarrel. Cold fusion (1989) is the example of a result that was not reproducible. Huygens’ waves and Newton’s light bullets were both right after two centuries — idolizing one scholar is therefore clumsy.
